First, I want to say that I love your guys skins.  They rock!!

I'm a big fan of them and use obsidian for my guild site www.fistoftheempire.com and the new heavy metal skin, http://dnl.fistoftheempire.com

I want to incoporate both in a way for a custom skin.  I would like to post my concept if you will allow me to attach a msg or I can email it too you.  The concept is to have the metal and glass orb from the heavy metal sking at the top left of the page.  I would then want it to be blended, in a bio mecahnical way into the obsidain skin.  I would want the page cut in such a way that it looks like the metal glass orb would kinda over lap the main informational part of the page.

I am sure I didn't explain it all that well but!!, I would love to send you guys an email to explain it better.

Just let me know know who I should send the picture to.

Thanks for all the great skins and keep them coming.

Hello,

Always nice to meet a happy customer

You might want to email your mock to rob at skin3.com

By the way, your sites look very cool and well maintained. The thing is, no matter how good a skin might look, but a webmaster without vision is surely capable of making the site looking like crap. You seem to know what you're doing. Congratulations

I'll ask if rob will include your site to both obsidian and gamer skin pages as a reference site using those skins if that's ok with you?

Hi Paul,

Thanks for you kudo's - appreciate it...  I'm going to start a "Client Quotes" section on my pages... mind if I "quote" you?

All of my pages have a spot for clients to post their own links to their sites.  It's always nice to see a skin with a real page - when you are browsing for a new skin, I'm sure you'd appreciate some "real-workd" samples.  If you've already purchased a skin, then it's a place to show off your site.  On a more "functional" level, these links help boosts everyone's ratings with search engines, so it's something that is in both of our interests.  It's win-win-win...

I'd be happy to post those links for you if you want-but those modules allow for registered users to add the links themselves.  I agree with Jani 100% - your sites ROCK!

I'd love to take a look at your ideas for a new skin.  However, right now, I'm in the middle of two more gaming skins.  I'd be happy to do a custom skin for you, but they start at about $500.00 US + - depending on the requirements.  (Obviously, custom skins are evaluated individually to determine how much time they will take.)

I know this seems expensive and I appreciate that most folks don't have the budget for this kind of thing. (Unless they are running commercial sites.)  Although I'd have some elements from the KrystalWare and Gamer skins, it still means a new Photoshop file, new slicing, new html - and some new css.  There is also a fair amount of cross-browser testing that I've been doing more-of lately.  This all takes time...

I'm hell bent on the next Gamer s skin called Empires, which will be using the same Gamer "elements" but rendered with  woods, golds and parchment.  It's going to look great for Age of Empires/Mythology sites, Everquest, etc.  Because of the those elements, it will also look great for a World of Warcraft type of site.  With appropriate darker backgrounds, it would also work well with Guildwars and other fantasy type games like Age of Camelot, Asheron's Call, Vanguard - Saga of Heroes, and Middle-Earth Online.  Here is the logo area with a AOE III backdrop:  Empires Logo Sample.

So... please send me an email with written or drawn ideas and I'll take a look at it carefully...

By the way, the logo for  http://dnl.fistoftheempire.com is the bomb.  That's exactly the kind of thing that I was hoping my users would be doing with the logo! If you build any other Metal-sites - please let me know!!

Cheers!

Hey sweet, glad you like the logo!  As for the custom skin, I will get you my ideas in a few days.  I'm currently stuck in Iraq doing the entire war thing, and what time I get free, I log into my 56k (on a really good day) to work on my website!!!    I get the tax free pay over here, so I've saved up some cash.  I would be willing to fork up 500 bucks.

BTW that empire skin, with the wood is soooo freakin hot, excellent work.

Keep the skins coming, I really enjoy your guys work.

Oh forgot, I would love to have you guys post links to my sites. The http://dnl.fisoftheempire.com , will be getting a new url, so if it doesn't work in a few days, that would be why.

Also you got my support for your testimonals!

Hey Rob,

Yeah thats me.  I was trying to get the skins in asap, before I had to go out be "occupied" doing some stuff in Iraq.  Sorry if I came off pushy, life has been hectic.  Trying to manage a guild while in combat can be test of will

Any way, I'm out the door for a couple of days, I will send you the design concept when I get back.  Please forgive me if it looks like it is drawn by a 3rd grader.

Hey... just an update on that Empire skin - it's taking me a lot more time but it's going to be worth it.  Just sliced everything this evening, and about to start putting the html together...  Thought I'd post another screen dump...

This skin is going to have background images for WarCraft, Age of Empires III, Age of Mythology, Age of Camelot, GuildWars, Rubies, Tribunal  and Morrowind.

Anyway, this is an export of my Photoshop file with most layers turned on and "mock text" added for tokens, etc. It's using the Age of Empires III "theme" and bacground.  (Logo not shown)

Can't guaranatee that it's going to turn out *exactly* like this... there is usually some "re-designing" that happens at the html stage. I'll update this with actually screenshots as things progress... Here it is...
